The Free Spirit Agency, formerly known as Free Spirit Promotions, begin in 1989 when Terry Dorsey and his family group "The Gloryland Singers" began promoting southern gospel concerts in the Louisville, Kentucky area. The company has promoted nearly 100 concerts in many cities with such major artists as The McKameys, Gold City, The Inspirations, Karen Peck & New River, The Nelons, Naomi & the Segos, The Cathedrals, The Wilburns, The Spencers, The Weatherfords, and many more. Now, twenty-five years later the company continues to promote concerts, but now includes many additional services to the Gospel Music Industry. Gospel Music Industry. Over the years, Free Spirit has booked many fill-in dates for artists and in 2005 a talent agency division was added to the company. Free Spirit Talent Agency now boasts a roster that includes: Lulu Roman, The Roarks, Naomi & the Segos, The MaHarreys, Eternal Vision, The Glovers, The Dave Williford Band, Gospel Tide, Terry Dorsey, One Voice Trio, Bev McCann, Mercy Rain & Kathy Hess with more artists to be announced very soon. In 2006, the "Friends Forever" Showcase began at the National Quartet Convention in Louisville, Kentucky. This showcase, entering it's third year, has featured over 30 artists and is quickly becoming one of the most highly attended and greatly anticipated showcases at the NQC. In 2007, an Artist Management division was added to Free Spirit when Lulu Roman become the first artist to sign on for management services. Now all management responsibilities for Ms. Roman are handled through Free Spirit. In 2008, a tour management division has been started and great things are being prepared that will have a major impact on the industry. Additionally, in 2008, several new divisions and exciting changes in Free Spirit are in the works. Even among all the changes and the growth, we have and will continue to remain true to our calling and to our pledge to serve this industry with the experience, integrity and dedication that we have prided ourselves on for the past twenty-five years. |
